hello from the 38th parallel!

But then in March with the coronavirus, we became confined to Marin...and Covid19 moved along the launch process and 38north Design Co. is fully up and running with all of my efforts now being concentrated on designing and executing only in Marin County!

I find it interesting that I was already making a transition to smaller more intimate events prior to Covid19 and had the desire to stay close to home, while doing the work I love. When naming the new brand I wanted the name to focus on MARIN without staying the word MARIN in the name. Through branding exercises we landed on "38north" which is based on the coordinates of Marin County California being 38.0834° N Latitude and 122.7633° W Longitude. Little did I know at the time, but now more than ever I'm working in Marin and it seems this move may actually be the new future for events!

With the Shelter in Place Order, ALL events - intimate of not - are on HOLD! Therefore we had to become passionate about NEW WAYS to celebrate. With clients connecting, creating partnerships with other event industry folks and supporting local small businesses - we began helping folks to celebrate in their homes north of the Golden Gate Bridge with just their household or shelter in place crew and then later their social bubble. We've been busy working to keep the celebration of milestones front and center for our clients.

We may not be able to get together and gather in larger groups - but we can find unique ways to be festive! We'll be sharing the adventures and journey to find joy and celebrate on the blog.
