What happens when you've been planning a wedding in your backyard during what is usually the warmest time of the year in Marin - and the forecast says 100% RAIN? If you're working with 38north Design Co. you show up to a fully re-planned wedding ceremony and reception and never miss a beat!

Sadly this is what happened for Joe + Viri. They have an amazing yard with a breath-taking THREE bridge SF Bay view. We'd planned for an intimate sunset ceremony followed by dinner and pool side dancing. When the forecast turned, we jumped in, and found options for inside celebrations. Thankfully we found the perfect pairing. Their church was available - so we moved the ceremony there - as their pastor was already planning to officiate the backyard ceremony.

Serendipitously the Sleepy Hollow Homeowners Association Clubhouse, which was just down the street from their home, was available - so we adjust all the vendors to relocate to the new venue. While it was storming during the ceremony, they had a break in the rain and they were able to grab portraits from their deck, so they could still have the stunning view incorporated into the wedding day memories.

According to Hindu Traditions...Rain on your wedding day is good luck because it signifies that your marriage will last. A knot that becomes wet is extremely hard to untie – therefore, when you “tie the knot” on a rainy day, your marriage is supposedly just as hard to unravel!
